Herbal Remedies - Anxiety

Anxiety is a natural and common behaviour in all human beings, however for some individuals prolonged worry can lead to an anxiety disorder, the common features of an anxiety disorder are:-

  • Constant and distressing fear of a place or situation.
  • Physical reactions ie trembling, sweating, faintness, hapid heart beat.
  • Avoidance behaviour - Individuals avoiding certain situations or places that could bring on anxiety.

Panic attacks are also a common anxiety symptom, a panic attack is a sudden intense fear that can occour for no real apparent reason, the actual cause of a panic attack isnt really known although they are thought to be linked to a chemical response within the brain. For people who suffer from panic attacks they can be very intense.

Most anxiety disorders can be placed into certain groups, these are :-

  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder
  • Panic Disorder
  • Specific Phobias
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
  • Social Anxiety Disorder
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Anxiety disorders can be controlled in many ways including the use of herbal medicines.
